You’ve pulled onto the hard shoulder after suffering a tyre puncture on the motorway. What should you do?

Explanation: Do not attempt to repair the puncture or replace the tyre. You should get out of your vehicle, leaving it as far to the left of the hard shoulder as possible, and walk to the nearest emergency telephone on your side of the road. Phone for help, then return to your car. Stand away from your vehicle and the carriageway, facing up the road to spot any approaching hazards.
