What do the white lines in the centre of the road mean?

Explanation: Long white lines with short gaps between them indicate upcoming hazards. Look ahead whenever you see these hazard warning lines, trying to spot the hazard being warned of, and consider delaying any overtaking or turning off manoeuvres. You'll know when the hazard has passed because the gaps will grow to become longer than the lines.
